What made you choose this particular product?
The price for a 255LPH fuel pump as opposed to a Holley one, including all the positive reviews made this all the worth while. I havent had too much beef with Carquest, considering I work of Advance. But for my Mustang, I think I'll keep the Carquest parts to a minimum.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
First Walbro 255. Probably gonna keep considering them for fuel pumps.
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
All you need as far as skill is to know how to strip wires. I would have loved to solder the wires instead, but the kit comes with 2 (only 2) wire connects. I bought some new ones however, simply because I broke one and needed to get replacements. Just solder those wires AFTER you've cleaned all the fuel pff.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
Haven't fully been able to use it yet, but so far so good.
Any additional comments?
be weary of the fuel pump sock you use. the one I got (which was a separate kit provided by LMR for free with the purchase of this product) refused to properly stay on the pump, causing me to repeated drop the sock in the tank. That sucks, because the hole for the pump is soooo small, that getting the whole assembly back in without rubbing the sock off is a pain. I've done a fuel pump job with a Carquest pump and Carquest sock and it gripped perfectly fine even with the rubbing.
