Day one fix: "Why have a convertible if you can't put the top down?"
Yesterday, the top worked... today?... not so much. For most, this would be the beginnings of anxiety. For me, this is everyday life with a German car. Once I put my thinking cap on, I noticed that the "Park" light isn't on when the lever is engaged. Wiggled the brake lever a bit, the "Park" light comes back on, VOILA! the top works! If there was any apprehension, it was making the call to the local Porsche store to inquire about a Handbrake switch. THIS WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE CHEAPEST TRIP TO A PORSCHE STORE EVER!! I, in no way, contributed to the swanky layout of the candy store that is Porsche. I couldn't distinguish it's accessories department from a clothing store in the mall! But my ticket for this trip wouldn't keep the lights on for five seconds... this time. I'm sure they'll get me several more times over in the future. Can you believe I got outta there for $6.10?!?!? Let's just say that I got the part, ran/tip-toed out before they changed their minds. Next: The Install.
