I first bought the car when I was 15 for $1600 and immediately went to work on it. The car is originally a 1979 RS that had a v6. It was a light blue and came from a factory in Canada before coming to the States and living it's life here in New England. The car was an utter mess when I bought it. I sanded, blocked, primed, and painted it in my driveway with, yes, a rattle can haha. It took me a little over a year to go through the whole suspension, wiring, interior, and to freshen up the motor. Finally it hit the road in September of 2015 and was daily driven, yup even through the New England winter, till this past summer. I first cracked the flex plate, then had a radiator fan blade fly off when tuning the carb, the blade would cut the upper radiator hose and destroy the windshield wiper fluid box before hitting my father in the arm and lodging itself in the hood spring. Then problems with the engine started. At first it was a little ticking but that turned into a knock which ended up being the result of piston slap. The motor ate up the main bearings along with the cran and is now under the process of being removed. This winter and next spring is going to consist of basically building the car again and getting the car into a useable, trackable, safe state.
