The Story

I bought this car on October 8th 2006 with 5 miles on the odometer. I have been a huge fan of the EVO ever since they came to the US in 2003.  In 2003 it was an impossible amount of money for a high school studen so I had to compromise. I went into the Nissan dealership looking to buy a V6 Altima but what I walked out with was a 2004 350Z Base model. It was a fun car and I keep it for a year until I hydroplaned on the freeway and stuffed it into the center divider. It was sad day for me because I really liked the car. My next car had to be AWD and getting an EVO was once more a financially struggle. I settled again and this time it was a 2005 WRX. In my opinion this was an ok car. I say this because as soon as I had a chance to test drive and EVO I realized the WRX was not going to cut it for me. It had a few mods on it and made good sounds. The nail in the coffin for this car was my test drive of an EVO IX. Compared to he WRX the EVO was a rocket in every regard. The steering, acceleration and brakes had the WRX beat my miles. I had put 32k miles in the year I owned and it was time to part ways.  Income has increased and the dream of getting an EVO was in sight. I traded in the WRX for the EVO and never looked back. I think the EVO IX SE is one of the best packages to be offered on an EVO and I am thankful I got it. The aluminum roof, BBS wheels and some other good options really make it a great choice. It is basically and RS with the MR options minus the plagued 6 speed transmission. It went through a few stages. From stock, to lightly modified and finally to the track ready stage it is in now. It was a great car in stock form but the mod bug was strong. A few mods later and it was a great daily driver with a bit of street credibility to back it up. The exhaust and wing being the most noticed my the police. The cops seemed to love this car and they let me know by giving me ticket after ticket including some street racing incidents and even the impound lot for a month. The amount of money went towards these tickets was stupid and it's something I would advice against. I had to find another way.  I went to my first track day four years ago and I was hooked. I knew the cars street setup was not going to make me a better driver. I started over and overhauled the suspension and added safety. Power stayed the same and I am happy with it for now. The transformation took a year mainly due to the relocation of the fuse box, ACD pump and time. The time I took was well worth it and there are only a few small things I will add to my build. Track days are worth every penny versus getting street racing tickets and endangering others. This car fits me and there was only one or two cars that made me think about trading it in. But every time I drive the car I can't see myself ever selling it. This one is here to stay!
