VEHICLE STORY

Howdy everyone! Here's my 2015 Scion tC. Her name is Ella Yelich-O'connor. Brand new to the car scene. Sharing my thoughts why I got this car and what I plan on doing with it. I've always had a passion for all the sporty and cool cars growing up. I still have a huge Hot Wheels collection stashed away somewhere and I grew up on Need for Speed and Forza. When I turned 16, I got my parents 2002 Lexus ES300. Never really appreciated it for the beauty that it was at the time, but that V6 engine was super satisfying. It did the job well, never had a problem, and got me around for my frequent trips between Dallas and College Station. Unfortunately, however, in the summer 2018, as I was driving up to Oklahoma for work related stuff during a big hailstorm/rainstorm, I ended up in an accident that left the car totaled. Fortunately, no one was injured, and it was relatively minor, just that my engine block had been damaged. At that rate, the repair cost wasn't worth it, so I needed to get a new car to commute from my apartment to college and to home. After a bunch of research, I settled on the tC because I liked the practicality of the hatch and positive past experience with Toyota products, since my parents had also driven Toyotas in the past. I was able to get a used 2015 from AutoNation that only had around 10k miles over the 3 years of ownership. The previous owner had left the car in great condition and it almost looked brand new. Now, after having owned this car for a bit, I love it. It's a great daily driver, but I plan on adding some more parts to make it more fun and sporty and learn more about cars. I'm a computer engineer so I do a lot of electronics work as well, and I'm really interested in diving in and upgrading what I can. I plan on keeping this car for as long as it'll run, and I personally prefer a more subtle upgrade style. I loved the Fast and Furious movies, but I'd like to keep the car subtle and prioritize performance over looks. Anyways, I'm mainly using this page just as my own personal log of stuff I'm adding on. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
