My 1988 300ZX Turbo is a Shiro Special special edition Z.  Shiro means white in Japanese.  In the Spring of '88, Nissan made and imported about 1,000 Shrio Special models to the US.  SS cars came with no factory options; they are all the same: turbo, analog controls, 5-speed, stiffer non-adjustable suspension, and viscous LSD. This car was sitting in a small dealer lot outside of Cincinnati, OH when I bought it.  I flew up to OH pick it up and then drove it 1,200 miles home.  I've got an engine swap/build planned.  Hopefully this will happen in 2016!

Ah, the forgotten 300ZX. The Z31 doesn't get nearly as much love as the Z32!

Any recent updates on this build?

About 2 months ago I put new wheels, tires, and brakes on the car. I am still running Rays Nismo LM-GT4 wheels, but they are 17 inch wheels (white!) instead of 18 inch (pictured). Tires are Toyo Proxes R1R. I swapped the entire brake system for a Skyline R34 GT-T set-up. The fronts use larger 310mm rotors and the rears are the same. Pads are Hawk HP+.

Sounds a lot of good progress, post some current pics!
