This is my 1987.5 Audi Coupe GT Special Build. I purchased this car for the princely sum of $2,700 the week before I graduated college, making it the longest period of ownership I've had on a car. The car underwent light restoration in 2012, and was finished in March, 2013. In May 2013, it was rearended by a Taxi, and in February, 2014, it was sideswiped by a Jeep. The car is currently in progress of being put back together yet again. Audi made one half-year run of these "Special Build" Coupes for their last import year in the US, including the 130 Horsepower NG motor from the successing 90/Contemporary 100, a 20 horsepower improvement over the normal 110 horsepower motor in normal Audi Coupe GTs of the time. Other improvements include 4 wheel disk brakes, and a 3 panel digital dashboard, which had been available on earlier Coupe GTs.
