After selling my 1993 300zx 2+2 a few years back I had a hole that could only be filled with another. This is a 1993 Nissan 300zx 2+0 I got in a trade, 93k original miles kept nearly stock for the first 24 years of its life. Daily drove the car for around 6 months before tearing out the VG30DE to begin an engine swap. Goal for this car was to improve handling by completely refreshing the suspension and swapping in an Nissan SR20DET. This swap gets rid of the very heavy VG30 removing weight that sits above the front cross member, the SR20DET is an all aluminum 2.0L that weights much less than the original engine. The SR20 is backed up by a the original 5 speed transmission thanks to an adapter plate and uses an SR20 OS Giken twin disk clutch to ensure the power reaches the rear tires. The engine was purchased second hand and requires an internal refresh, but all of the internals were in re-useable shape luckily. Once rebuilt the power goal is a mild 400whp on an E54 blend to ensure longevity. Once everything is sorted this car will be a dedicated weekend street car that is capable of being taken to local road race and drift events.
