I saw a black Mustang GT on the highway in the early summer of 2014...might have been an 05-09 model. I don't have the clearest memory of whether it had that 3 valve sound or if it had the updated body styling, but I was captured by the s197 styling and I had to have one. After building my model of choice online I eventually called up the dealer. "We stopped takings orders. New generation coming." My heart sunk...but only for about a day or two as searching the dealer inventories turned up a dealership with a car on the lot spec'd out 100% as I had wanted it. It was the last black with red interior GT Brembo car in Ford's Canadian dealer inventory, and it was in my city. Great luck! It was a manual too, and I had never even pressed a clutch pedal up to that point. Looking back, my only regret is not opting for another car that was available nearby which had the track package. Mostly for the Recaro seats. OEM GT Recaros cost an arm and two legs these days, if someone is even willing to part with them. I just had to have the red interior at the time, but I should have traveled the 30 minutes to go sit in the Recaros just to at least feel them out. Chances are they would have swayed me. My friend Victor accompanied me on my purchase, he haggled with the sales manager and drove it home for me, where I could learn on the backroads. There was a minor goof up pulling into the garage. He parked the car, but wanted to back it up to leave space in front. The shifter having first and reverse on top of each other, and him being in the car for all of 15 minutes...well...he accidentally went forward a few inches and pinned a bicycle against a table.. It left a couple small marks on the bumper. And not an hour off the lot! Once the car was wrapped in clear 3M, those marks were mostly obscured. Victor helped me learn to drive a manual later that day in my new car, and it's been an improving experience ever since. Victor passed away one year after I got the car, I still have the sheets from the sale with his written notes on packages and prices scribbled over them. This car will always be a part of my memory of him, I can't ever see myself parting with it. Or fixing the little bumper marks. After the initial novelty wore off, and also as the driving became more confident and aggressive, I became more aware of the body roll. I learned about wheel hop too. Starting with LCAs from BMR, I began a journey to change the car's handling. As it sits now, it's heading towards nearly the full suite of BMR parts, paired with Bilstein B6 shocks and struts. The change has been incredible. 08/03/2018 I just got my BMR adjustable sway bar end links installed. What a difference! I wonder why nobody talks about this part on s197 mustangs. Perhaps they get aftermarket sway bars with multiple holes and that works with the fixed length oem links. In my experience, with oem bar and oem links on a lowered car, the ride was being made overly rough. My lowering springs stiffened the ride, but I was getting some bounciness that I would expect from a much higher spring rate. Adjusting the length on the BMR links allowed me to connect the bar without having insane tension on it and the result was a smoother ride up front over uneven road.

My JLT v2 oil catch can (passenger side) for the 2011 and up Mustang GT developed a vacuum leak early on. It was much more noticeable when the engine was hot and idle hunting a lot. It was kind of obvious where most, if not all, of the leak was coming from. Where the hoses attached to the can was a simple pinch clamp and it wasn't really doing anything. I could rotate the hose around the fitting with
