VEHICLE STORY

Since a young age, i've always dreamed of owning my very own BMW ///M3. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find an affordable one. Thankfully though, I came across an add on craigslist for an M3 swapped 1997 BMW z3, and it was in my budget.. The Z3 is no where near stock, having all it's internals gutted, and fully rebuilt with an s50 M3 engine which is OBD 2 swapped with an s52 intake manifold for torque improvements, along with a stage 2 Dr. Vanos kit to top it off. I've maximized airflow by adding an aftermarket cold air intake, a traction control throttle body delete, and paired it with high flow catalytic converters, and behind that is a 3" straight pipe. It also has an 11 pound fly wheel, AC delete, a swapped BMW 330i Trans, with a custom shortened driveshaft to fit. Paired with the driveshaft is a wonderful diff; 3.46 40% lock LSD. To put all the engine mods to use, I have 2 different tuned ECU's to swap between. ALL bushings on the car have been replaced with new polyurethane bushings. The rear sub-frame has been fully rebult, and replaced to avoid those problems that all us, Z3 people can relate to. Current suspension is swapped over from an e36 m3 as well, but it's at the 'beginning of the end' part of it's life. I have e36 control arms, with an aftermarket sway bar in the front, but no sway bar in the rear. Under the car is a BMW X-Brace for extra chassis reinforcement The rims are 17" M Contour Style, and current tires are Federals. Interior is stock besides the carbon fiber lining in the center trim, and carbon fiber shift knob to match it. The overall ride on the car is very good! It's stock M3 suspension, and easy to use clutch makes it very daily-able, yet it can very quickly become a beast of it's own whether your smashing on the canyon roads or racing with friends at a track. The car is a bit rattly at times on bumpy surfaces, but I assume it;s because polyurethane bushings, and 20 year old car interior stuff don't go well together in terms of sounds.
