I bought this back in August 2014, having moved on my 1988 Trans Am GTA. It's a rare example, built for export but sold new from the US rather than being sold here in the UK. It's also unusual in being one of the pilot cars (no 5 off the production line) and is one of only two Firebirds built in 1997 with the red leather interior. It's also had an absolute fortune spent on it since new, including Koni shocks, Bilstein springs, a Fays2 Watts link, UMI torque bar and lower control arms, SLP subframe connectors, T/A performance rear girdle, 2000+ Trans Am piston calipers and larger rotors, SLP cold air intake and a 52mm throttle body. Inside is pretty much stock with the exception of a short shifter. Oh and then there's the ABS delete, Wilwood brake proportioning valve, Hurst Roll Control and to top it all off, Torque Thrust IIs in 17x9 on 275/40/17 Kumho Ecsta Supras... Plans... well, other than a full tune and some minor tidying up, I am considering some new wheels...and maybe a Vortech intercooled supercharger at some point!

It's a Euro spec car. UK requirements mean it has to have side indicators which blink (hence the fender lights), sidelights which work without the headlamps (the front ones) and "breakaway" wing mirrors. As for the spoiler, UK cars only had the low level spoiler unfortunately - probably something to do with certification. The wing mirrors and spoiler are on my list to change - can't do anything abou the lights unfortunately as they're hacked into the body... Although a front end swap to the '98 on style would fix all of that :)

what are those small lights on the front fascia and behind the front fenders? And if its a Trans Am, where is the bigger spoiler?

Thanks Joseph! The list is long... I've had it since August and STILL keep finding things I didn't know about!
