Shop Wheels & Tires ModsI purchased the SHO as a completely stock car. I chose this car because I had just started a family, and needed something with 4 doors, decent on gas, and room for a baby. It was fun from the start, but I have always wanted more, more, more..... So I started by adding an intake, then a canned tune from Livernois Motorsports, and then different spark plugs, and so on and so forth. I was traveling down the local interstate late Thanksgiving night, and a 2015 Jaguar F-type Supercharged V6 pulls up next to me, and paces me. I get on the paddles, and prepare for the hit. He takes the hit, and I follow suit. To his (and my) surprise, I walked away from him. Long story short, we pulled in to a gas station, and low and behold, the driver is Zach Bowman, editor and test driver for Road & Track Magazine. He was more than impressed. I took him for a quick spin, and he fell in love. He decided to do an article on the car. You can see the article here: http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/news/a25497/this-is-what-a-550-hp-ford-taurus-sho-looks-like/ I was only running 350 HP to the tires when I raced him. So I always wanted to build it more and more. Well, my performance company in Michigan (Livernois Motorsports) offered me a sponsorship. They ended up sending me a Corsa Exhaust, Methanol Injection, H&R Springs, and a new intake. I had all that put on the car, and now I was pushing 400 Wheel HP. So the article was written and published in May of 2015. Since the article was posted, I have added ATP turbos, custom front mount intercooler, new custom tune by Torrie @ Unleashed Tuning, and fully forged internals in the motor made by Carillo Performance. Have yet to tune the vehicle, but with the upgrades and proper tune, I should be at 525-550 AWHP. It has been a fun build, and an amazing tool to surprise a bunch of LS & Fox Body guys. :-)
