Any thoughts on the new 2019 mid engine Corvette? Seems to me, it takes away from the American Musc
I mean it's still going to have a big old V8 I assume, so it still fits the bill of American muscle. Now I don't think it's been an American muscle car for a long time, it's more like America's sports car. As such, I think it's only natural it goes mid engine, as it's been steadily competing with super cars and exotics as it's evolved.
It doesn’t need to be archaic in design to be American Muscle. They need to sell cars. Period.
I'd totally love to see what it will become. They've been speculating since the past few generations, so if they actually pull through with it, it might be a game changer. It might be the best value for a mid-engine sports car.
I'm certain it will be the best value for a mid engine car with a V8. I'm curious to see if it will be less than the 4c or entry Porsches.
This is simply evolution of the objective: high performance for a good value. Saying the motor shouldn’t move is silly. The lead engineer has stated there is no way they can create more mechanical grip with the current drivetrain layout, which means they need to change it up. And just like how we lost pop up headlights in the name of higher performance, so too must the front-mid engine design sunset for something superior. I say bring it on. And here’s hoping they fix the cheap plastic Fischer-Price looking taillights while they’re at it.

Should be really cool but it will be completely different from what a corvette is supposed to be , i like the idea though
Why though? It's super car like performance and feel for half the money, isn't that always what the Corvette was?

I always thought well at-least the 80s and 90s Corvettes were more exotic while the Camaros were supposed to be Muscle / Tuner type cars. Sounds good to me though.
My thoughts exactly, I think at least since the C4 that's been the case, but suspect it's been from the beginning.
Cool idea, not very Corvette-like. Kinda upset about the route theyre taking for the c8
Any thoughts on the new 2019 mid engine Corvette? Do you think it takes away from its American Musc
