What made you choose this particular product?
The standard VW shifter is sloppy and inconsistent. DG Sigma 6 was highly rated & includes solid cable mounts/connections.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
Yes. Yes - ECS & APR
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
Shifters are a relatively easy mod - this one may be slightly trickier (more tedious) than some others due to the manner in which it attaches to the cables and adjusts.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
It's a high quality product. It delivers a very short throw and positive (confirming) engagement into gear, with a sort of click-in/out feel and sound. I much prefer this shifting feel to the sloppy standard shifter assembly!
Any additional comments?
Overall, I'm very happy with this DG Sigma 6. I installed it with the APR shift cable bracket. Shifting has no remaining ambiguity, especially with a good weighted knob. I use a Raceseng Circuit Sphere 100, which keeps the knob about the same height as stock and matches the interior very well. I may also try their Prolix model after the summer heat subsides (since the metal would get very hot in summer).
