VEHICLE STORY

Tell us the story behind your ride. What made you pick this particular one? Where did you find it?Ive always liked the MOPAR "Attitude", I generally like larger vehicles and this fit the bill especially with an iron block V8 (itll hold the boost), Manual transmission (that can actually handle abuse), and overall pleasing aesthetics. I purchased my car after looking 4months for a strip down base R/T with the Super Track Pak in a 6speed configuration. I wanted it Black and this was the only one I was able to find in that time frame new, and since it was new and sitting on the lot for 8months because it was a stick.Describe the modifications you've made. Where did you start, what’s the most recent mod and what motivated it?I started with the brakes because this car is severely lacking on that department, worked my way into the suspension and then finally into the engine. Lastly it was visual mods since i am not really into mods that don't increase track times or fun factors.Of all the mods you’ve made, which do you think offers the biggest bang for the buck?best bang for the buck is easily the Nitrous setup, on NA form she was only making 391hp and 415tq on a dynojet (sealevel 79* weather) and with just about $1500 including the tune and some engine reinforcement she now walks any stock or even mildly boosted SRT... numbers listed are all on the dyno on this page. How did you go about selecting the specific parts for this build? Any installation tips to share? If it makes her faster then it goes on the car, if not then its stripped from the car if it cannot add to the fun factor at least. What are you planning next?rebuildWhat’s been the biggest challenge with this build?money and time, shes still the daily

You need some Engine valve covers to dress this up properly. Very nice ride! How do you like the Nitrous? What size shot? I am doing a 100 shot next month.

[]Diego Guillen

im just trying to keep it stock lookin as much as possible lol... i run a 275 shot in the form of 2 stages... nitrous is a hell of a drug lol, nothing hits as hard as that compared to turbo/supercharged/NA because the tq hit is instantaneous

[]Jeff Koehler

Thats a big shot! Stock internals? I heard thats a little dicey over a 100 shot if you dont have anything on the bottom end. I am very glad to hear of your success though. I really am looking forward to getting my nitrous done.

[]Diego Guillen

as far as limits id say 175 is the most a 5.7 can run stock, thats still more than a 6.1 n 6.4 due to pistons which are the first thing to go. but properly tuned n with good accesories u can stretch the hp itll make off those shot sizes quite a bit, n remember that for every 1hp u make extra to the wheels (dyno) on spray u almost make 2lb/ft of tq so itll feel mych faster than the hp suggests... the engine can handle it its the rest of the drivetrain that will break first

[]Jeff Koehler

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated!

[]Diego Guillen

anytime! best of luck on build sir, and yes the scats and SRTs dont know what hit them... even stock hellcats are taken by surprise lol

[]Jeff Koehler

Love you car too! A monster with your nitrous setup. Probably a big surprise to a few folks on the road I am sure.

Mopar FTW! What were the gains from the non-nitrous mods? Like with just the CAI, throttle body, manifold, and headers/exhaust?

[]Diego Guillen

stock dyno was 335/347 without nitrous and with proper timig added it makes 382/406 on the dyno
