I had been looking for a project car for several months having completed my '74 Toyota Hilux. I found this Datsun 260Z 2+2 at a garage sale for  a very good price, and jumped right in!  The engine/transmission conversion had been completed by a PO and the guy I got it from purchased at an auction several years ago, thinking he would "get to it soon". A friend helped with the tow to my garage only three miles away. That was four months ago! I have upgraded brakes, transmission, differential, electric wiring, dash pad, and radiator. It needed a new battery, new fuel sending, unit, fuel pump and gas tank cleaned. I have accomplished oil and lube. A new brake master cylinder and booster was a necessity along with the Toyota 4X4 S12+8 front caliper upgrades. A new differential was in order with a 3.90:1 ratio to get things moving! The car is dialed in now, and I'm looking forward to new seats, new gauges, new seals and weatherstripping, and a paint job. I'm most happy with the way it performs. I feel the car fits me, is affordable, and gives me mucho pleasure in driving it because the performance is well above the family car and my pick-up. I enjoy the challenge of working with the hybrid Japanese platform and the domestic power plant. Where I am, parts are easily obtainable for both. I have learned a great deal with this project and have made many friends through their help. I

This Z had sat for several years outside. I bought it four months ago and have gone through every system to make sure things are right.
