Tell us the story behind your ride. What made you pick this particular one? Where did you find it?
Originally was looking at getting a daily for work, but once I saw a GTR drive by. Been looking to get once since I knew it was possible to import to Korea. After numerous searching and and posting on facebook to find out the owner, finally did on a random posting. Discussed his plans and how he did get it and made my move. Went online, through www.japaneseusedcars.com, made a deposit and low and behold, i got one. I originally wanted to bid on a black one, also a 1992, considering I would be overseas long enough to import it back and make the 25 year rule. Lucky for me the following day, this white one emerged and that was that.
Describe the modifications you've made. Where did you start, what’s the most recent mod and what motivated it?
Prior to this, Ive had a couple of projects and learning from experience, I lost sight of whats important. In this one, i started to plan for a ground up project. I started with maintenance, general maintenance. Found out that I had a slow oil leak, and fixed that. Then got brakes done, bought a set of EVO IX calipers front and rear, had some parts from an aussie company that made the brackets (www.alphaomegaracing.com), Project Mu brake pads, EVO X girodisxc 2pc front rotors, and DBA 370z rotors. Then I got the tein flex suspension with EDFC advance, full bushing set from superpro and front and rear swaybars. Added the Spoon rigid collars, and completed the suspension work for now. Bought volk racing gram light wheels from (www.croooober.com). Got myself a full titanium exhaust (tomei) and downpipe. Recently just capped it off with a defi zd link advance to monitor fluids and pressure and changed the boots for the front axles. Only realized that I need to maintain my GTR as I intend to keep it and not looking to do anything crazy.
Of all the mods you’ve made, which do you think offers the biggest bang for the buck? Definitely the brakes. How did you go about selecting the specific parts for this build? Any installation tips to share? A lot of research. Got a lot of advice from other people, some close friends local and abroad. Looked to Motivedvd for a lot of great tips. What are you planning next? Ship it back to the US and slow build, more maintenance. What’s been the biggest challenge with this build? Getting parts and knowledgeable people to either assist or build
