"This is my jeep. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My jeep is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My jeep without me, is useless. Without my jeep, I am useless." - The Jeepers Creed In November 2007, I was home in Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving weekend and in need of a new car/truck to bring back with me to South Florida where I had just started a new job. It was Black Friday and I had until end of Saturday to find a car, negotiate a deal and bring it home. I had found a used BMW E46 M3 in velvet blue metallic but it looked like it had been driven hard (bald tires, paint chips, sun-blasted vinyl), so I paid a visit to the local Jeep Dealership to look at options over there. In the back corner of the lot was a green metallic 07 sahara unlimited, manual transmission, soft top only. I asked the dealer what was the story with that truck and he said, "A longtime customer of ours bought it, put a little over 3,200 miles on it and decided he really wanted a Rubicon, so they did an exchange." He loaned it to me the rest of the afternoon to drive around... and the next day, we haggled and managed to bring it home for good that Saturday evening. I think the salesman lost his job because of that sale (I called two weeks later and they said he wasn't around anymore). Anyway... Purchased in PA... Amtrak autotrain to FL... for three years... then moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2010... Such is how the saga began... [more to come...]
