Misfire. Again. That is all
I have a friend that has the same car. He just tells people that it's cammed lmao
It's not misfiring, you just have "variable displacement" lol.
Oh man, that's still going on? Any new ideas as to where the misfire is coming from?
Jacked the car up, and sure enough, PCM ground was loose. Tightened it up, cleaned other electronic

Hang in there, we've all been stumped by seemingly unsolvable problems. Good luck getting it running right.
Sounds like it's time for an engine swap. Why bother fighting with an engine that doesn't want to work, especially when it's not even a very good one?

Check everything carefully! Look into the cilinders for water/ oil. Check all cables and wires.

dont, the LS swap wont happen then. Speaking of which it may be time to start hitting the junkyard for a block, harness, and ecu
That's pretty much where I'm at. The LT has done nothing but fight me every step of the way, so I've already started setting some funds aside for a solid LY6
Cool, now hurry up. Drive your damn car mane
Compression test time.
I hear you there! Don’t lose hope tho. Just keep pressing on!
Time for a break, take a week away from it, drink a glass of your whiskey/bourbon/scotch of choice, and revisit it with a calmer mind. You'll get it going, now it's just a matter of deciding the best way forward. 👍
Jake I haven't followed your posts, but I remember that you were having issues with the LT4. I take it , that you did a compression test as well. How much lower is cyl 3? Could the valves possibly be miss-adjusted?
Put the new studs on today, and the job was suspiciously easy. Didn't even take a whole lot of poun

Alloys sure can be some SOBs. Go to take one off and you need to beat the hell out of it to get it unstuck. Put it back on and it's wobbling in a day.

Awesome Jake! Congrats!! A&M is my alma mater and I've been dying to get something bigger going with TAMU SCC. Shoot me a DM when you get a chance.
Congratulations! Have fun 😊
So my dad called yesterday and said he's got an old spray gun that he doesn't need anymore since he
So since I'm kinda broke right now, and the connector I got from O'reillys isn't working properly,
Is there any risk to the harness doing that?
"If you can't read spark plugs, you'll never really go fast. And if you do, it won't be for very lo
That picture/chart is an absolute must have for anyone who wrenches on their own (or others') vehicles. I have it posted as a sticky on an ECU tuning forum that I moderate. I have no idea why I don't have it saved on my phone
My thoughts exactly. Sensors can tell you a lot, but there's no true replacement for being able to look at the physical evidence of what your engine is doing.
Sensors can tell you what's happening before air goes into the combustion chamber and after it comes out but they just won't tell you what's going on inside. I don't think they make a sensor that tells you if your valve stem seals are leaking either, lol.
Took the car on a test drive today after attempting to fix the connector. Got a good distance from
Swapped connectors tonight. For the first pull, car ran flawlessly. Then the connector decided that
I hate all wiring
You can borrow my soldering iron and solder if you need it! Best of luck man
Well, at least you know for sure what the problem is now. That's like 75% of getting it fixed.
You're getting close, hopefully that's the light at the end of the tunnel!
What's everyone's driving playlist look like? I've actually got 2 main ones that I use. One that's
I've got too many. Everything from chill sad stuff, Rawr xD stuff, EDM, 80's hits, Rap. You name it, I probably have a playlist for it lol

Got the new fuel pump strainer in. Maybe a 2 dollar part is the source of all my issues
Glad to hear that you got it sorted and at such a small cost. It's always nice when it's an easy fix.
So I pulled the fuel pump tonight since I couldn't sleep, and the strainer sock was black. As in, t
So I went on a test drive, misfire came back as soon as the car started to move. Idles fine, revs d
Have you changed the fuel filter since you got back on the car? It might be worth checking out and seeing if sediment/rust deposits are getting into your fuel system. I know when my S-10 sat for a few years with only a partial tank of fuel the tank rusted really badly and I went through a fuel filter every 2 weeks. Checking it would give you an idea without having to get the fuel tank out.
Changed the fuel filter a couple of weeks ago. Fuel pumps are easy to get to on my car.
So I went through a few steps to diagnose the misfire. Swapped injectors around, misfire didn't fol
Had to drive my truck in my work boots today due to weather. Gotta say, driving stick shift in work
Yeah I don't like driving in my boots either. Hard yo feel things

I get that same feeling when I am not wearing tennis shoes and trying to push a clutch in. I like to be able to feel the clutch.

Have you driven my car yet? I know its not an M3 but you will be surprised how much it pulls. Next time we hangout Ill let you get behind the wheel
Definitely curious. Even Xefrem's car surprised me with how much it had. I'll try not to rip your shift knob off lol
It pops right back on. No worries haha

This things freaking clean!!
That’s one hell of a Vette!
Look at all that tire in front, bet that thing's got griiiip! Very cool build.
So what's your move on your vette?
Currently trying to trace down a cylinder 3 misfire that won't get out of my life. Been taking longer than expected with class, work and whatnot. Once I get it running reliably, I want to start setting money aside to begin building a good LQ4 for it
Im talking about purpose for your car like the one in this post
50% street 50% strip. Basically a semi-competitive race car that I can drive on the street and not hate my life
Hahah alright I got you
That 'Vette looks like it's been seriously built up. I love the interior on it.
I wish you could see the engine bay. It's just as amazing lol
As the title suggests, cylinder 3 has a misfire that comes and goes. Already shuffled injectors aro
