VEHICLE STORY

Back in early 2000 I was in the process of building a twin turbo 327 Astro van. Soon after starting the project, I was forced to sell all the parts and start something new. In 2002 I purchased my first turbo dodge, a 1989 Plymouth Voyager. Horrible vehicle to make fast. Well, after 2 years of building and racing, I broke the existing record of 12.63@105 by running a meager 12.56@106. I ran several passed in the low 12's @ over 110 in that van and decided it was time to start a new project as there were no vans near my record at the time. So began the search for a factory turbo charged Omni. I found this one sitting in a field rusting away on some older gentlemen's property and approached him to see if he would sell it. 3 hours and 800 dollars later, it was on my trailer headed home. I stripped it down to the metal and began the process of making a sleeper out of it. It has made a handful of 10 second passes, the fastest so far of 10.53@129.98. When I made that pass, the car was on 308hp and 12.8psi. I since did a really bad tune job and upped the boost to 22.4 psi and made 552hp. I haven't had a chance to get it to the track since I'm working on my other project.
