VEHICLE STORY

Bought as a part-time street and track car...  and something to work on.
Week 1: Re-wired Podi boost gauge that had no power. It had zero chance of working the way the PO had it installed. Found out the car is making 23 lbs boost. Podi is a really cool gauge with nice features like peek recall, and color changing to show an over-boost situation. All programmed thru a remote control. Week 2: Removed the Fikse FM5 wheels to start a rebuild. One has a crack in the barrel, another has a warped front lip. I put on some OEM 17inch 5 spokes from the 2002 A4 Sport. The oil got changed and was nice to see a quick drain plug installed already. Took inventory of all the nice suspension parts. Removed old and busted window tint. Week 3: Installed hood pins, because racecar, and safety. Front bumper got removed for the first time. The Evolution Racewerks intercoolers are very nice and the installation looks good. I removed the headlight sprayers, plumbing and pump. The paint on the bumper is beyond trashed. Tomorrow it gets completely stripped, prepped and repainted, with the washer holes filled. Week 4-6: Headlight sprayers removed and front bumper respray complete, including new mounting hardware and proper fitment. StopTech pads and new rotors installed in the rear, along with a new rebuilt OEM caliper on rear drivers side. Week 7-8: ABS/ESP fixed with a new steering angle sensor. The car now has zero warnings/ faults and finally says OK on the LCD at start-up. 25% window tint done. Fikse FM5 wheels rebuilt and remounted. More detailing done, 15 years of gunk removed from the door jams. The car is running great and gets to do some daily driving now.  Week 10: Rear bumper repainted. Week 12: Interior belt-line trim / console painted body color. Week 16: Depo black headlight housings installed. Blue data logging cable arrived. Week 17: Had LCD dash cluster rebuilt by ModueMasters Week 18: Replace front speakers with 2 ohm Infinity Reference Week 19: Installed new Valve Covers Gaskets and Cam plugs. New spark plus. Week 20: Installed Rota Grid 18x9 wheels for street use Week 21: Installed 034 silicone breather hoses kit (spider hose) with billet valve Week 22: Got ME7Logger working TODO LIST (no order): -Do a 1/4 mile runs at a track -Do a track day at Road Atlanta -Lightweight battery or relocate to trunk.
