If you care about sound quality and you're on a budget, this head unit is a great buy. It's kind of clunky compared to more modern units with a dated interface (no touch screen), but it makes up for it with features such as the 16-band digital equalizer and 3 pre-amped outputs with the ability to adjust crossover networks. Pioneer claims it's an entry level "audiophile" product, and I tend to agree. The sound quality is great. It is worlds better than the factory head unit in the MK5 Jetta, which really aren't that bad compared to many other auto manufacturer's systems from this era.
