Bought this car in June 2016. My first car was a Subaru Forester 2007 and I had completely fallen in love with Subaru. But I needed power. So I began searching for a STI or WRX. Eventually found one for sale at a dealer in Montreal, me being naive thinking "well if a dealer is selling it, it must be in pretty good shape!". I was wrong. Three months later the transmission was ready to blow, and I changed the clutch seeing as they were already in there (sadly I'm not a mechanic I go to a garage 🤷🏼‍♀️). Timing belt needed changing, engine seals were cracked. This car had been beat to hell. The poor thing... I also started to notice some sort of lag. When accelerating it has trouble, it's hard to describe, but it's like the car can't give it's all. We checked everything, I contacted one of the previous owners, not the mass air flow, it's not the oxygen probe, and yes I've been using the right kind of gas... maybe the throttle body? Last time, we cleaned it out and it seemed to help, but the previous owner says he had tried and no avail. So for now I'm taking care of the body (scratches, rust, corrosion) and all the general repairs that need to be done. Been focusing on the aesthetic while I finish the mechanic, and then we can move on to some performance! Can't wait!!
