VEHICLE STORY

This is my 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS. I learned how to drive manual in it thanks to my friend, Steve Guerrero. It was originally supposed to be his daily and also a car for a spare 2ZZGE and C60 transmission. I had intentions in buying my very own manual car in the beginning of the year of 2020. When I saw the color, I immediately knew it had to be mine. The 7th Gen Celica GTS was also in debate because it's a nice little sports car with a 2ZZGE and 6 speed as well, however coming from my first Matrix I knew I should continue onwards with a second one. My first Matrix was what got me into the car scene. It was a 2006 Toyota Matrix Base which I later converted into a 2004 XR (with all the OEM XR upgrades). Fast forward, I'm a TRD geek. I see TRD everywhere on Tacomas and 4Runners nowadays however rarely on a Matrix. Most of TRD's parts are discontinued for the 1st Generation Matrix, so I figured why not start hoarding them to build a TRD Matrix! A bunch of parts on my car whether they're performance based or purely accessories; they're most if not all discontinued in the world today. It took me a lot of time and effort in my daily life to source out these parts! My ultimate goal for this car is to build it towards performance. However as of right now, I'm sticking to the name of Unicorn TRD XRS. Unicorn in particular because of the rarities I have acquired for this car.
