The R1 Story Ever since Yamaha came out with the crossplane crank motor for the R1. I was instantly in love with the sound it made. To top it off Im a big super hero fan and a big fan of ironman, so when Yamaha change the design of the R1 headlights to look like ironman. My mind went into overdrive to figure out a way so I could some day own this motorcycle. Luckily I found a black one at a local dealer and I decided to trade in my FZ10 for the R1. First Mod Right now there is a custom wrap as you can see in the pictures. It was originally all black. The next thing I did was replace the grips with something more comfortable. The ones that came with it looked great but very uncomfortable. I also added red bar ends to match the other red accents on the bike. So what I want to do next is more on the performance side adding an auto blipper and with that comes even more mods since doing that you have to get a tune and before you tune it you need to have the exhaust you want so this mod is going to totally change the power, throttle feel, and ofcourse up and down quick shifting.  Best Bang for Buck MOD The best bang for buck I think is a link pipe for the R1. It instantly changes the whole feel of the bike since it makes the sound come alive like night and day. Whats next... After the Auto blipper I will probably get into more asthetic parts and maybe even a new wrap. We shall see... Biggest Challenge One of the biggest challenges with this build is finding the right solution for the auto blipper. I finally found a company that has a great solution. Stay tuned...
