After my trusty Jeep died, I caught myself in a completely different season of my life than I was when I originally bought the ole 4X4 for $3,000 4 years earlier. I no longer needed or craved for a rock crawling, snail of a car. I was born a speed hunter and it was time to indulge. I knew I wanted something quick, but being a college student I didn't want to break the bank at the gas pump, unwanted attention from cops, and insurance rates. I showed up at my local carmax and test drive anything and everything that even remotely interested me in my price range. I never considered my self a hot-hatch person much less a Mini one but I test drove an R56 turbo Cooper and it made me smile unlike anything else I had driven that day. I shopped around and got a great deal on my Mini and the rest was history... My goal is to one day build this into a canyon carving beast that will be a regular on the mountain roads of western NC and eastern TN. The budget for this car will certainly increase as I finish up college and make more mullah! Thanks for checking out my car and good luck on your own projects!
