Shop Suspension/Steering ModsRoxy's Story: When I first saw the 86, I fell in love. I knew it was going to be my next car. Doing some searching on the FT86Club.com "for sale" forum, I came across a listing for a car in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was perfect. The owner was asking $26,000 and it had over $13,000 in aftermarket parts installed. It had roughly 6500 miles on it (pretty much brand new) and came with a Full Blown Motorsports Stage 1 turbo kit professionally installed, with a custom tune by Pure Automotive and countless supporting mods. Visually, the previous owner kept the car mostly stock. This was exactly what I wanted. A performance built 86 that I could continue to improve and customize to make my own. A nice plus was the owner was kind enough to include all of the original parts. Stuffed into the car was a stock clutch, full exhaust, flywheel, etc. After picking up the car and bringing her home, I began purchasing parts. I started with some basic safety modifications to support the turbo kit, such as installing a Full Blown Motorsports Radiator, an oil cooler, and a Radiant dual catch can setup. I had the tune updated by Pure Automotive with the latest RaceRom features. Then I began updating the car visually: changing headlights and tail lights, adding a TRD style bodykit, interior gauges, etc.Moving forward, the next step I would see myself doing is getting a full 3 inch exhaust, going flex fuel, getting an electronic boost controller, and getting it retuned. This would allow me to put down more power in a safer manner. One day in the far future I may build the motor to handle higher boost and make more power. But for now, the car is perfect and I only plan to make small additions such as a new hood, engine dress up parts, etc.
