After coming from the raw rough ride and power of my rally bred Evo, and the plush amenities of my Benz, I felt like my next vehicle should be a bit of both worlds. Since I'm keeping the Benz, I decided I could go for something a little less practical as well. My search started for a sporty luxury coupe. I had my eye on the Audi S5 for a while, but I wanted the supercharged V6. They didn't offer that motor until the 2013 model year, and those commanded more money than I was looking to spend at the time. I was also a little weary of the cost of upkeep on German Autos. My Mercedes had treated me well so far (knock on wood) but I was still gunshy about costly repairs from my ordeals with the Evo. So I decided to keep looking. I wanted a decent amount of power and handling, good looks, creature comforts, and reliability. A few years back, a buddy of mine had got himself a G37 sedan. It checked the performance and luxury boxes I wanted, and it just so happened that the coupe version was quite the looker. I researched it, and came up with a list of my must have options: Sport, Journey, and Premium packages were at the top of my list. Navigation was a close runner up, mainly for the hard drive space for my music. Unfortunately the one I ended up getting didn't have nav, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Overall, I'm happy with it. I have done a few minor things to it so far and I have more to go. This car is a great fit for me as it strikes that balance of performance, luxury, and reliability that I was looking for.
