The Story

I bought this beautiful car, unaware of the love that has been put into it. I became a car enthusiast because of this car. I bought at 65k miles and I can't stop driving it. This beast came lowered, with full suspension upgrades. Lca's, upper arms, the full 9 yards. I since then have done quite a bit to the car. All mods I have purchased, I have installed myself and I take pride in that. I have high aspirations for this car and an engine swap is possible in its future if it blows up! I throw all of my money into this car and do not regret it at all! Installing a tr3650 transmission soon. Its got a big 70mm turbo that sticks out the hood and will be running about 12 lbs of boost once tuned. I am hoping to make 400 wheel on that amount but who knows! I want to run higher boost but others I have talked to have run into valve float above 14. I will be upgrading the springs in the future but only when I get bored on the possible 400hp. the torque I cannot even predict because it makes 240 stock, maybe 500 or 450? We will see on the dyno. I have about 600 hours into the build so far and it still has a lot left to it!

I'm not a mustang or really a ford kind of guy but man I have to say she's looking sweet Justin!

Any idea how tough the rod and main bearings are on that engine? You might through a rod or spin a bearing using forced induction to get those numbers.

[]Justin Cavallucci

main bearings/caps with others who have gone turbo seem to walk at 14-16 lbs. Believe it or not, from the factory, the 4.0 came with forged rods (unlike the 4.6 with powdered)! they are supposedly great for boost. The weak link would be the hypereutectic piston and crap t5 transmission. If the motor blows or trans goes out, I'll be swapping it out for something to make this build even more unique... Before I do beat on the car with the amount of boost I talked about I'll be running it low (maybe 8-9) until I get a daily so if it does go kaboom I can park it and work on it gradually.
