Drive a slow car fast. BC Race car.
I think I set 1:51 last year. You're definitely carrying more speed through the corners than me. Before the car was re-tuned and I put larger wheels, I could barely hit 140 down the back straight. Even though that setup was much slower, I was surprised to see -10 MPH top speed with the new setup. I think it was adding more un-sprung weight to the wheels, but the engine changed too. Who knows.
Saw one of the vids. Passin' lots of fools! Other drivers giving good point by's. Is your BMW modified in any way, other than tires?
Bilsteins, 1/2 cage, urethane bushings, Dinan tune
RSX in the 1:52s is still a lot of fun. I'm thinking of running BMWCCA HPDE the 24th-25th in my NA Sonata. Goal time under 2:00. It's all about having fun!
Good time, wish I was there. I liked your YouTube vid too. This is a hard track for a (relatively) front heavy FWD. Beats my RSX by at least 3 seconds.
That's a good lap time. I can't seem to put together a good complete lap, but the combination off all my best sections is around a 1:51. I can't get lower than than until I learn heel-toe.
Thanks Brandon. Putting together a complete lap is the fun of playing racecar. It gives you something to look forward to next track session. Heel-toe rev match downshifting is somewhat of skill that is difficult. I don't have it down pat. But heel toe blip the throttle sounds simpler and it is. The revs get better as you go. Just practice. (on the street too). One think I don't do is look at times on track. Looking slows me down.
