I bought this car after owning a Mazdaspeed Miata for two years. I wanted something comfortable, practical, and German. I became obsessed with the E46 ZHP performance package 3-series, because it seemed to be the best representation of the E46 without stepping up to the M3. I absolutely love the classic lines, the simple and driver-centric interior, the buttery smooth nature of the inline-6, and the smooth throws of the 6-speed shifter. I had hesitations about buying another German car, but this has proved surprisingly easy to work on for a shade tree mechanic like myself. I plan to keep it pretty much stock, as I like all my cars, saving money to replace components as they age. I like the idea of driving the exact representation of what the engineers envisioned in 2004. I absolutely love this car, and after one year of ownership I haven't grown tired of it yet. That's a record for me!
