The Story

Thanks for checking out my car! 2013 GTA Brembo 401(A). Daily driven built for street handling on New York roads. Car has pulled 1.2g turns on street and 1.26g braking. Best mods to date: 1. – BAMA Tune: Stock trans tune is pathetic so the BAMA trans tune V2 Race did wonders for the transmission shifting speed and firmness as well as substantially improved throttle response and adds about 37 HP with the CAI. Diablo Tuner is good but I think some of the newer ones look better. 2. Custom Hard Wired Paddle Shifters: they took a while to develop but they work great and allow me to keep both hands on the wheel when taking very fast turns. 401A Seats are good up to about .9g turns after that you slide right up them! Had wireless paddle shifters but there is a slight delay – direct wire is much better. 3. Cortex Watts Link: Dramatically reduced rear step out when hitting bumps during high speed turns. Big improvement over BMR poly Panhard bar. Also significantly improved traction out of the dig - a pleasant surprise. I also had the Cortex Torque Arm installed – it did significantly improve mid turn traction and feel during hard braking but the NVH was way too much for a daily street car IMO. 4. Steeda Sport Springs / Koni Yellow Single Adjustable Shocks: Stock springs and shocks were pathetic. Car felt floaty when driving high speed over bumpy/ dippy roads. Plus the 4WD ride height just looked silly. Steeda Sports gave me the exact ride height I was looking for with 20’s and the Koni’s are great at dampening over bumps but the rear ride was a bit harsh so…; 5. Viking Double Adjustable Rear Shocks: Dramatically improved traction AND ride quality. Amazing what a difference double adjustable dampeners make for tuning for ride, traction or handling. Seems like the ride quality in these cars is mostly controlled by rear dampeners not the front. Does anyone have experience with ride quality change with poly front control arm bushings? Other good mods were: Eibach front and rear adjustable sway bars: They stiffen up body roll well. BMR Poly/Heim Joint Rear lower control arms: They completely eliminated axle hop with minimal added noise on the highway - no other NVH. Motul 5.1 brake fluid and Russell Stainless Steel Brake lines: This car has never had any brake fade no matter how hard it’s driven. Feel is great. Maybe the front Boss brake cooling vents, vented and slotted rotors, Hawk ceramic pads and GT500 Rear Rotors help too. I know alot of people complain about brake fade on GT500's at the track but this car has smaller rotors and only 4 piston Brembos and it never has any brake fade. Maybe the GT500's bigger brakes hold more heat or maybe it's just the fluid, lines and pads. IDK. Disappointing Mods: BMR rear lower control arm lowering brackets: People rave about these but they provided no noticeable improvement to traction no matter the adjustment. CHE K-Member Brace: Looks great, well made, easy to install, looks like it stiffens things up but no noticeable difference. Anyone have experience with how 17 inch drag radials handle on turns? Thanks again for passing by!
