I'd been wanting to get another older Japanese car to tinker around with, and once I found out that my wife and I were going to have a baby we started thinking about baby cars, since my other car isn't super huge and hard to get into. Queue lots of sweet talk to convince her that a 26 year old obscure Japanese sedan was the best way to go. I wasn't fully ready to buy but I was shopping around, and had emailed Japanese Classics LLC here in Richmond asking about how much Nissan A31 Cefiro's go for, and he had mentioned Laurels. After some back and forth, he told me that they had gotten in a couple Cefiro's and two Laurel's in and that I could go check them out if I wanted. I was still pretty torn and not really ready but I went down there to check them out regardless. This car was sitting in the middle of their warehouse with all of the windows down, and the second I saw it with all of the windows down in all of its pillar-less glory I absolutely fell in love with it and knew I had to buy it. After a few test drives and some sweet-talking to my wife, we bought it and have been daily driving it ever since. Apart from keeping it and trying to get it to show room quality with a sprinkle of some tuning, I'm hoping it can provide some cool and unique childhood memories for my son. I know I'd still remember it if my dad had driven me around in a goofy right hand drive Japanese car as a kid, anyway.

Let me know if matt farah makes it this way to do your car. I'd add mine to the list if he's interested.

I saw that dealer on the powerblock. They have a large inventory.

Awesome story Matt. Your boy will be sharing these memories with his friends and hopefully passing it on to his kids someday.
