I bought this car in June of 2015 from a local dealer and it is my second BMW. I had an E36 328i before this that was unfortunately totaled. I chose this car because I wanted a practical car that had good performance. It’s an x-drive model (awd) so this car does see snow every winter! Like many of you here, I started with small modifications like the air intake and tune. I then caught the mod bug and down the rabbit hole I went. I have since done most of the common engine upgrades (down pipe, intercooler, exhaust, stage 2 software mapping). I have lowered the car on coilovers, upgraded the rotors, pads, and stainless steel lines and tuned the transmission (best bang for buck by far). Along with performance upgrades I have done a host of visual enhancements from carbon fiber splitters and lip spoiler to 513m wheels from an F80 M3 (my favorite visual upgrade) to m-performance interior pieces. Most recent upgrades have been small ones. I wrapped the interior trim to be brushed black aluminum, replaced side markers with smoked LED models and put in a red push-start button. While building this car I have tried to stay true to BMW and go for an enhanced OEM look. While I am happy with the way it has turned out so far the car has not been the most reliable. I do my best to stay on top of maintenance so I can keep enjoying on a daily basis! Unsure of what will be next as most of the things left to be done (upgraded turbo, more suspension upgrades) are a stretch of the budget right now but stay tuned as I will try and document my build. Enjoy!
