I enjoy JDM the most but love anything with four wheels and an engine!

Does anyone know a lot about the h23a bluetop. I have been researching it but there's different num
If I remember correctly when I swapped a blue top into my Prelude they make something like 190hp and 165ft*lbs at the crank. I'm not sure on the rev limit but 7200rpm does sound about right. They aren't super high revving motors for being a 4 cylinder. What are you planning on swapping it into?
Dang that's a decent amount of power out of the factory! I'm pretty pumped now! I'm swapping it into my accord as a donor motor while I take out the original f22a6 and build that all the way up to make 350-400 hp reliably!
Sounds like a pretty solid plan. You can't beat the power that the H23A makes for how much it costs. What are your plans for a crank position sensor on it? I know when I put one in it was either use a distributor with a sensor or get the oil pump and sensor assembly from a US H series motor.
Thank you! Yeah I got it for a steal so I really can't complain at all haha. Hmm idk I had no idea the sensor was an issue on those guys. Is it because it needs a specific ecu to run it correctly?
If I recall correctly it has to do with it being an OBD2 motor. Being a JDM engine it has the crank sensor in the distributor (which requires repinning the factory engine harness slightly) but as far as I know all USDM engines have it on the actual crank. I'm not sure what you'd have to do for an OBD1 setup. I think the OBD1 motors had the sensor in the distributor though. I'm not 100% sure but it's something to look in to.
Ok got you. Well the obd1 problem shouldn't be an issue. The guy I bought it from gave me 2 ecus and an extra harness! But tbh I was thinking of running it off of a standalone ecu. Maybe haltech or megasquirt. (not sure which one yet)
