I got this car in 2013 after selling my first car, a 1990 Volvo 240 DL (what a beast that was...). I bought it from a friend for a very good price because he repaired it from the crash it had been in  As of now, it still is fairly old and abused. Especially because it has spent so long in New Hampshire, where the roads are back-breaking in a car with even remotely stiff suspension like the V70R. However, I am improving the car slowly and steadily to avoid making the same stupid mistakes I see a lot of young people my age making with their cars. I am taking a "do it right the first time" approach. One way I'm achieving this is by upgrading instead of replacing parts that get worn out. When things would otherwise be replaced, I upgrade them to a higher quality piece at the same time. The ultimate goal in the first phase of my build is to create the car which Volvo should have made from the factory. This car is OK, but it is extremely compromised and severely lacking in certain areas. Focusing on [MANUAL SWAP!!!!!!!] Brakes, Suspension, and Power improvements, I will build one hell of a car with factory quality and reliability. After Phase 1, who knows what I'll do? Let's just say I've got some tricky ideas up my sleeve...
