This is Lana, she is a base model 3000gt (NA FWD) with an attitude. I needed a daily driver when I first moved to Michigan and I came across her……….. She is needy……….but rewarding! I work at GM and had the opportunity to drive most of the fun toys and for some reason I always wanted back into Lana with no regret after my time with them were up. So to start off she is loudddd, I have a custom exhaust with everything removed except for the micro cat and a Gibson muffler! I believe the sound is the best character trait of Lana, I can’t get enough of the 3.5k-7k of her pipes! I also sat her on CX Racing coil overs which is remarkably good for how long they last in a daily driver application. I also installed poly engine and trans mounts that made her feel like a real GT/Sports car, besides the suspension this was the best thing I did to her! I’ve only taken her tracking a couple times and auto and rally cross a hand full and it felt like there was more untapped potential especially with the HRZIII on her! Now that she is hitting near 200k in addition to Michigan’s harsh terrain she is needing my help on a lot of basic maintenance things which is to be expected. I spent a lot of money on her just to keep her running but in my opinion it is worth it! I you ever decide to get a 3000gt put it on coil overs and set it fairly soft to allow it to dig and give it some good brakes and watch the chassis come alive. I believe this car is highly underrated but be aware this is an easy to get in hard to stay in type of car due to how the cars were previously owned community wise. If you want power get the VR4 version, 100 more horses and all-wheel drive. The base and SL versions are FWD in the states. The Base and SL are great as momentum cars and have a good center rotation but don’t expect them to be fast, they can be quick but not fast.
