Founded in 2012 by Afshin Behnia, Petrolicious is a premier automotive content producer. Each week, Petrolicious publishes an insightful cinematic revolving around a single classic car from an exotic car manufacturer. Previous films have included automobiles from Italian carmakers, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari, Japanese carmaker, Datsun, and German carmaker, Porsche. Primarily featuring both road and race cars, some films have deviated to include motorcycles as well as more modern machines such as the Toyota 86. Behnia’s wife, Kika Vigo-Behnia, serves as the Executive Creative Director while the Director of Marketing position is held by Andrew Poole. In addition to the weekly uploads, Petrolicious posts professional photography of cars they are shooting for upcoming videos on Facebook, Instagram and Wheelwell. Behnia was a previously a software developer who sold his online startup in 2011. The sale of his business went on to fund his passion for classic cars which ultimately manifested into Petrolicious. Vigo-Behnia was formerly an executive at The Walt Disney Company prior to joining her husband on their adventurous, fuel-filled endeavor. Poole previously worked for Silicon Valley Internet companies, Facebook and Google. The Petrolicious team is based out of Los Angeles, CA. Petrolicious uses video hosting giant, YouTube, for its short movies. Their channel currently has well over half a million subscribers with over 57 million views across more than 200 original movies. The runtime for their shorts on average is approximately 10 minutes or less with beautiful and captivating cinematography. The driving done in these videos makes the viewer feel as if they themselves are present in the car. From the engine revving to the gated gear shifting and the exhaust backfiring, the car comes alives on screen with spirited drives on some of the most exhilarating roads in the country. Petrolicious.com, which garners over 600,000 visitors per month, offers more than just a collection of past films. There are articles on automotive culture and news as well as an online retail store. Fancy a vintage-inspired apparel? Petrolicious has you covered, literally. Posters, driving shoes, wrist watches and more are also available all with the same common theme: cars. There is even a marketplace to purchase classic cars. Interested in selling yours? Look no further. The key ingredients to making a successful film is performance, power and speed. While all three are not necessary, together they make up some of the best cinematics created by Petrolicious. While you can never expect to see a Ford Pinto on their channel, they are plenty of Mustangs and even a Ford GT. Why? Because performance, power and speed. Petrolicious is not just a series of movies, it is a lifestyle. And remember, Drive Tastefully.
