Shop Wheels & Tires ModsMy 2011 WRX limited hatch. After a previous write off with my Audi b7 a4, I was in the market for another turbo-4cylinder compact car. I found myself narrowing it down to either a second-gen MazdaSpeed3, or a 2008-14 generation WRX/STi. With an STi out of my budget and impractical for my needs, I turned towards the "more daily driver" of the bunch, the WRX. When I found out that in 2009 the WRX got the VF39 turbo found in the STi, and numbers jumped from 224hp and 220lbft, to 268hp and 260lbft, a real interest was taken when I thought of the tuning capabilities the VF39 turbo provides. While on another late night NASIOC forum hunt, I also discovered that in 2011, the WRX *hatch* got the widebody kit that the STi has had for years, complimentary with AAA tires and considerably larger spoiler. What was once exclusive to the STi up until this point, had found itself growing its heritage in the more often forgotten WRX. With the widened wheelbase, larger turbo, and larger spoiler from STi, I knew the 2011+ model year WRX was exactly what I wanted.
