Product review

What made you choose this particular product?

For 2016, Smart raised the ride height to try to increase ride comfort that was lacking in previous models. The incredibly soft springs made the car bank, roll, dip, and dive under any acceleration, braking, turning, and going over bumps. These springs were ordered not for performance gain, but for better aesthetics and to decrease the negative effects listed above.

Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?

I originally shopped for off the shelf lowering springs, but there aren't a lot of options currently and even less information given on those springs. I decided to contact customs spring manufacturers and Coil Spring Specialties gave me the best price.

Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?

Rear springs could have been installed without even removing the wheels. The front sits on a standard McPherson style strut and is simple with simple tools.

Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?

Price was great! They were about $250 more than off the shelf springs but it was worth the price for being able to define my own specifications.

Any additional comments?

Ride comfort is decreased (obviously) but the springs do still work as springs. They're not so stiff they absorb nothing. I ordered the springs to drop ride height by 3 inches all around. I realize after installation I should've dropped an extra inch on the front. Rear fitment is near perfect for what I wanted.
