French do one thing best, and frankly that isn't their cooking.Building hot-hatches is. Mine is a fully stock 2006 Clio 197 with the standard (non-cup)chassis. A joy to life with, very easy around town (for me the small streets of Amsterdam), and a joy in the countryside. Revving over 7500 rpm and an extrawide track with long travel springs (dixit the big wings) result in a somewhat serious toy. It's a bit heavy at 2700 lbs, but the 197 horses are quitebrisk. I'm not planning on major changes, but a ecu remap could push the torque in the lower power band. Also quirky cold start should solve this. It also sounds nice for a 4 pot, although at highway speed it can be a bit tiring: over4000rpm at 75 mph, let alone high speed traveling through Germany for instance. Furthermore it a very practical car, 4 grownups can be carried around easily for short trips, and luggage space is very adequate. Hope you like to hear from me for some updates!
