About this product

Part #: 54-76009

This Momentum GT intake system was designed around the largest filter possible to allow maximum performance and filtration. This cone filter has a large (6-3/4" x 4-3/4") oval flange and is 9" tall with an inverted top. The Pro 5R performance air filter features 5-layers of progressively finer mesh cotton gauze oiled media and is constructed with 100% polyurethane frame for long life and multiple cleaning cycles. A custom CAD designed roto-molded housing made from heat soak resistant material eliminates the use of multiple components and ensures the coolest air intake charge available. A large clear sight window allows for filter inspection without removal of the air box. The roto-molded housing is made out of black cross-linked polyethylene. A urethane plug is also included if you wish to block off the auxiliary air inlet. This system uses a high quality plastic CAD designed, dyno-tuned, roto-molded intake tube to achieve maximum power gains while maintaining a perfect fit. This tube has a built-in resonance chamber to catch un-wanted air intake noises.

What made you choose this particular product?
5.3L/6.2L compatibility
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
Yes, first time buyer. Had considered other brands like Volant, K&N, S&B, and others, but liked AFe for the 5.3L/6.2L compatibility I will need when switching to the ported LT1 throttle body.
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
I installed this myself, and it was honestly fairly easy. One thing to note is that there is a rubber post on the bottom of the intake box itself that slips into the tray where your OEM air box was. Feels kind of loose and sometimes feels weird because it doesn't have a full seal around the old air box opening in the fender unless you push it all the way against it. Other than that, it's honestly fine. Has a great sound and the truck is so much fun to drive with it.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
So far, so good. It always puts a smile on my face when I pop the hood and see it there.
Any additional comments?
If you are looking to make some additional power and you have a bit of a budget along with the possibility of doing the L86 (or LT1) intake manifold/LT1 throttle body conversion on your 5.3L, this a great intake to buy because it will already have the adapter you need for both the 5.3L and the 6.2L. Will make the throttle body/intake manifold change very easy.
