Performer Pontiac heads utilize a D-Port exhaust port configuration for use with standard D-port exhaust systems. They are designed for 1962-79 389, 400, 421, 455 cid V8 Pontiac engines with a 4.060in. or larger bore. They feature optimized oil return passages for increased oil flow. These heads are available in three heart shaped combustion chamber sizes, including 65cc, 72cc and 87cc. The 65cc combustion chambers are as-cast while the 72cc and 87cc chambers are fully CNCd to provide a 9.5:1 compression ratios when used with flat-top pistons. The spark plug has been relocated closer to the exhaust valve for improved performance. These heads are cast with extra thick port walls and a compact port size, making them ideal for CNC and hand parting. Complete heads include guide plats, rocker studs and high quality valvetrain for direct bolt-on application. Head crossover machined for 50-state emissions legal performance. INSTALLATION NOTE: 350 c.i.d. engines may require notching the block for valve clearance. Three head bolt bosses are raised higher than the standard D-port heights and will require head bolt kit #8561 to install these heads. What made you choose this particular product?
It fit the price range I was willing to pay, vs the $600+ quote I was offered to have the original intake repaired. Also, I intend to reuse the original Carter-built M4MC Quadrajet carburetor, which this intake will accept.
What were you trying to accomplish by adding this product?
Replace the original intake manifold that was cracked during removal

About as bolt on as a super charger could get
Once you’ve had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
There has been ups and downs. The install went smoothly but had some belt issues early on. A note on this is to make sure you have a serpentine belt laser alignment tool. Do everything you can to ensure all your pulleys are as spot on as possible. The belt is super finicky. Also upgrade your tensioner and upgrade your harmonic balancer if it makes sense. With belt issues sorted... the thing eats, sounds amazing, and is great!
Any additional comments?
Buy an upgraded belt tensioner and use the opportunity to upgrade/swap your harmonic balancer. The belt tolerances, at least in my case, don't leave much room for any error.
