About this product

Part #: 7-1011

In leaf spring-type suspensions there are significant forces focused on the pivot points and shackles. For this reason, it is imperative to replace the soft, blown-out OEM rubber bushings with Prothane premium grade polyurethane components. All related sleeves, etc.. are precision fabricated to assure a perfect fit.

What made you choose this particular product?
Sold individually rather than in a kit.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
No
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
Not at all. The old bushing sleeve needs to be pressed out and it's quite difficult to fit the control arm in a press to do that. Once that's out though it's easy to get the new one in with a C clamp.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
Yes.

What made you choose this particular product?
Price, Performance.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
Yes, first time.
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
Installing is probably the most difficult thing I have done so far, instructions are vague but once you start taking it apart it all becomes pretty obvious. Except for the fact that they don't tell you where to put the washers.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
Yes, exceeded my expectations. Not nearly as harsh as other people say.
Any additional comments?
Not nearly as harsh as other people say.

What made you choose this particular product?
I wanted to stiffen the suspension when it comes cornering and tighten up the steering.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
Yes, I highly recommend them
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
The hardest part of installing the bushing was actually removing the parts so that you can work on them away from the car. I used a torch and a 12 ton press to remove the old bushings, but that was pretty much overkill in my opinion. Make sure that you remove the old metal bushing sleeve from the part. I used a hacksaw to cut them so I can press them out. Just make sure that you take your time and don't cut into the part your working on.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
Made the car corner like a monster.
Any additional comments?
I recommend you do this when changing other parts like struts or springs. That way your already have the part removed.

What made you choose this particular product?
I was replacing the entire suspension, and was also replacing the control arms. I would have gone to poly bushings at some point, so I figured I would do it and get it over with.
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
It was a pain to install. Rusty parts will make the installation worse.
