About this product

Same as SGF53, but comes with black powder coated stainless Pype Bombs. The Pypes Phantom Series is designed to give your car or truck a new sleek look. Black is the new color on the market. All Phantom Series products are powder coated over 304 polished stainless steel. Black powder coating provides a longer lasting product, along with a new stealthier appearance. This Axle-back system incorporates a unique resonated tip design for a great sound and maximum flow. Pypes Exhaust Systems are designed to deliver enhanced performance, provide extra punch in the passing lane and improve gas mileage. Fabricated using the highest quality materials, our smooth, 16 gauge, mandrel-bent, stainless steel pipe ensures maximum exhaust gas flow, which can significantly boost horsepower. The stainless steel construction of our pipes and mufflers enables them to resist corrosion and extends the life of the system. Our mufflers are precision matched to deliver the ultimate in sound and performance. This Pypes system comes complete with a 2.5 in. muffler delete tailpipes, stainless steel clamps and hangers. These systems can be installed at home without any special tools.

What made you choose this particular product?

Being an autocross car, I wanted the most midrange torque possible, which the Pypes headers should help build with their stepped tube design.

Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?

Considered BBK and Kooks but went with Pypes because of their all stainless construction and the price.

X pipe came with my cat back system, which for the price was the best option.

Would have loved a BBK system, but the price was way too high

Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?

Down pipe bolts from the manifolds tend to snap if you don't add heat to remove them.

Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?

Probably the best value.

What made you choose this particular product?

Wanted something with more rumble. Got rid of the mufflers for resonators but still wanted some more. Warning it is LOUD.

Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?

I’ve had Pypes brand exhaust on this car and a V6 that I had before and I have no complaints. Great quality, welds are great looks like a good stack of dimes.

Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?

Installed it myself. Wasn’t too bad can get it done with jack and jack stands in the driveway like I did but would prefer a lift. To get the bolts out where it bolts up to the headers were sort of tricky on the one side. Going to need an extension that rotates.

Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?

Sound was amazing. When you delete the cats you have to expect a lot of rasp especially with my setup. I set off alarms in parking garages sometimes and have set off a few cars as well.

Yes, it was easy to install but the only issue I had was to remove the stock ones it was a bit difficult.

Yes, no drone and gets loud when you step on it
