Rugged Ridge 18676.72 - Transfer Case Slip Yoke Eliminator Kit

About this product

This kit is a MUST if you installed a 2 inch or taller suspension lift in your 1987-2006 Jeep Wrangler (not needed for body lifted Jeeps). The kit fits all newer production NP 231 transfer cases (1987- up). A Slip Yoke Eliminator Kit (SYE) will eliminate the need to drop your transfer case in order to avoid drivetrain vibrations that are caused by taller suspension lift. The purpose of this kit is to replace the slip yoke portion of the NP 231 with a fixed yoke and CV-style drive shaft assembly. This is the most complete and strongest kit available. The Mega Short SYE (18676.72) is designed to be used in the same lift applications as the other standard SYE kit (2 inch and up). The main advantage to the new Mega Short SYE kit is that it allows for a much longer drive shaft to be used (additional 3 inch). This reduces the angle of the dive shaft and in turn improved bearing and u-joint life, reduces driveline vibrations caused by lifted Jeeps running short drive shafts. It also has a shorter and stronger main shaft design.

Price, quality, functionality. I snagged this complete product for $468 and there isn't a better product at this price IMO.

First time Rugged Ridge product

Very easy bolt on installation. Have a friend help although I did mine alone. Use a board to help align the gate. May take a few adjustments after to get a perfect close but I does happen.

Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?

Excellent product I wouldn't change anything about it if I did it all over.

Any additional comments?

Similar to Teraflex tire carrier. Much better price and when comparing to my friends Teraflex carrier I can't find a benefit to the more expensive Teraflex.

Very easy to install, Have a long wrench to get to the nut on the other side of the fender.

Yes, Love the new look. Looks a lot better then the stock hook catch.

The HUGE stock antenna isn’t ideal for most circumstances especially off-road so a simple and easy solution to that problem is a replacement like this!

What were you trying to accomplish by adding this product?

Better for off-road conditions or any other circumstances in which the stock antenna could be compromised.

Extremely easy and a good fit.

Once you’ve had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?

Good bang for the buck! The AM/FM can get a bit finicky but if you don’t use it too much, or at all, it’s nothing to worry about.

Improved look over the stock antenna.
