What made you choose this particular product?
It's one of the few race seats that easily fits into a Miata.
What were you trying to accomplish by adding this product?
This is a track car, and I needed a passenger seat that was track-capable (and 6-pt harness compatible). This is the most affordable and easiest-to-install passenger seat option I could find.
Was it easy install? Any installation tips that will help others?
Yes, super easy to install. Fits easily into a Miata with no modifications. Once the stock seat is out, install whatever brackets you want and then those brackets bolt right into the OE seat holes in the floor.
Once you’ve had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
It meets my expectations, but I'm not a fan of this seat. It is EXACTLY what I thought it'd be, to be clear. That said, it is made for tiny people. I have broad shoulders, and sitting in this seat is very uncomfortable in the shoulders/shoulderblades. It's also a tubular seat, so you tend to feel pressure points in the areas where your body comes up against the tubular frame (e.g., outer thighs).
Any additional comments?
Note that despite the picture in front of the car, I did NOT use the Sparco seat brackets and instead opted for a more custom solution that bolts direct to the floor to accommodate more headroom/clearance for taller passengers (including me). The official Sparco brackets are actually much easier to work with, but they add about another inch of height vs. bolting direct to the floor.
