About this product

This Spectre High Performance Racing (HPR) Air Filter is a black media clamp-on cone filter that can be used for a wide variety of applications. Using the included adapter rings, this filter can fit 3 inch, 3-1/2 inch, and 4 inch diameter tubes. Manufactured using high quality materials throughout, including oiled synthetic media, urethane, and steel mesh, this washable performance filter is precision engineered for low restriction and better performance. This filter's top houses an inverted cone filter for improved service life and enhanced flow potential. Designed with a triple chrome plated steel top and base, this 2-1/2 inch tall air filter is factory pre-oiled and ready to use.

had to run a riser so it didn't hit the throttle cable, the riser had problems hitting the choke but It will work once I can fab up some intake pipes

Any additional comments?

good option for open hood applications being an engine swap there is no room for anything up front so I have to cut a hole in the hood regardless. Going with a exposed filter could allow water to get into the carb and I will not chance it.

I have used Spectre intakes in the past, they are very simple to create your own CAI, so long as you have the correct parts for it.

What were you trying to accomplish by adding this product?

Increase the induction noise and also allow the BIV to vent to atmosphere instead of recric.

Was it easy install? Any installation tips that will help others?

Very some so long as you plan it out first prior to installing fully.

Once you’ve had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?

Yes, there is a TON of spool that can be heard and the BOV is really nice, flutter sound from factory, unless you bend the BOV vent hose a bit, then you'll get a nice LOUD purge.

Air filter was pretty worn and dirty. Looking to replace, then see if the old unit can be washed and saved for reuse.

Easy. Bolt-on product.

Simple to use. they have a few different color options. I like that these are washable and there is a small-particle filter that can be fitted overtop.

Yea, super easy. Just warm the rubber bits up on the stock intake for an easier slide on.
