About this product

This Spectre High Performance Racing (HPR) Air Filter is a blue media clamp-on cone filter that can be used for a wide variety of applications. Using the included adapter rings, this filter can fit 3 inch, 3-1/2 inch, and 4 inch diameter tubes. Manufactured using high quality materials throughout, including oiled synthetic media, urethane, and steel mesh, this washable performance filter is precision engineered for low restriction and better performance. This filter's top houses an inverted cone filter for improved service life and enhanced flow potential. Designed with a triple chrome plated steel top and base, this 9-1/2 inch tall air filter is factory pre-oiled and ready to use.

It was cheap, from a friend.

Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?

First time buying Spectre. While they have a reputation from years past for cheap, low quality stuff, the fact is, it’s cheap, and it works “good enough”.

Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?

It wasn’t too hard to install. My only advice would be to be careful oiling the air filter, too much oil, and it’ll ruin the MAF sensor.

Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?

It’s noisy. I’m not sure I like that it’s so noisy. At first, I didn’t know WHAT the noise was, turns out it was my IAC.

Yes, I considered buying from k&n but the price was way too High at the time

Had to buy some piping but it was an easy install.

Can feel increase of air into the intake manifold

Super easy. A couple bolts and clamps. As long as you have a cheap automotive work tool set you can do it.

Once you’ve had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?

Yes. Beyond. It sounded so much better and due to my last air filter being clogged and broken my car gets more gal per mil.

I stall was easy with the Specfab Racing mounting plate kit

They work decent and get the job done but i wouldnt use them again if i had a choice

Might as well be a cheap china product with mandarin on the box instead of English.
