About this product

Part #: 979.42020

StopTech(R) Big Brake Kits exceed stock performance in two key areas: First, larger rotors increase heat capacity, allowing a driver to brake harder stop-after-stop with reduced chance of fade. Second, stiffer calipers and stainless steel lines reduce system compliance, providing consistent pedal feel and confidence-inspiring responsiveness. The key, however, is to increase heat capacity and reduce compliance without upsetting a vehicle's stock front-to-rear brake torque ratio. That is why StopTech(R) developed the Balanced Brake Upgrade(R) design philosophy, which precisely apportions front and rear braking resources while factoring in vehicle weight transfer under braking. Every StopTech Balanced Big Brake Kit is engineered to produce that optimal balance using caliper bores and pistons specifically selected and tested for each vehicle application. This is what sets StopTech apart from off-the-shelf solutions. In contrast, a brake upgrade that adds too much front torque (as many do), will reduce your car's ability to maximize the traction available from all four tires, robbing you of performance. In addition, a system that uses too many pistons or pistons that are too large will make the brake pedal much more difficult to modulate, limiting a driver's control of brake input.

What made you choose this particular product?
Good price and they work very well. Low noise level, good cold performance, and decent feel and bite.
Any additional comments?
Make sure that you bed the brakes properly (Stoptech has a tutorial on their website) for rotor longevity. These pads do make more dust than OEM.

What made you choose this particular product?
Came packaged with my wheels. A bit overkill for the truck imo. I wouldn't buy it brand new for this type of vehicle.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
Yes, first BBK I've ever bought. I did not consider others at least for this car I didn't.
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
Yes, it was easy once I had all the right parts. I was missing the SS lines at first and the stock SS lines wouldn't fit the caliper properly. I bought porsche brake pads instead of stock stoptech pads.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
Yes it does. Brake feel is much better than stock.

What made you choose this particular product?
The performance and the fact that it worked with my vehicle
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
First time buying from this brand. This consider the Motul as well.
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
Very easy. Take old fluid out of reservoir with a turkey baster and then put new fluid in and do the proper fluid flush through the brakes. Helps if you're doing lines at the same time.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
So far so good.
Any additional comments?
None.

What made you choose this particular product?
I tried to have my slotted rotors machined, but it was too warped that braking caused severe vibration reverberating through to the brake pedal. Not Good. I needed a cheap replacement ASAP.
Is this your first time buying from this brand? Did you consider other brands?
No. I had the slotted rotors, but I tried to save money by just buying pads. Not a wise choice.
Was it easy to install? Any installation tips that will help others?
If you can turn a bolt, you can install this part.
Once you've had a chance to use the product, did it meet your expectations?
Definitely a good rotor.
